In the field, reliability and precision are paramount, especially when it involves tactical equipment like tripods. We understand the importance of maintaining your gear to ensure it performs at its best when you need it most. Follow our guide to keep your tactical tripods in top condition.

Routine Checks and Cleaning

  • Visual Inspection: Check for cracks, bends, or loose components that might affect the tripod’s integrity. Focus on the leg locks and the head, which are prone to wear.
  • Cleaning Procedures: Use a soft brush to remove dirt and dust. For stubborn spots, use a damp cloth followed by a dry one to prevent moisture damage.
  • Regular Checks: Make sure all mechanical parts like screws and bolts are tightened and functioning properly to maintain stability.

Lubrication and Storage

  • Lubrication: Apply a high-quality lubricant sparingly to pivot points and locking mechanisms to keep moving parts smooth and prevent dirt accumulation.
  • Correct Storage: Store the tripod in a cool, dry place. If storing long-term, consider disassembling it to preserve its components.
  • Transportation Tips: Retract and lock tripod legs for transport. Use a padded bag for protection against impacts.

Additional Instructions:

The screws that connect the legs to the tripod mount are intentionally left without thread locker for added personalization. Some people will want the legs very snug while others will want them to move easily. You can leave them without thread locker, and periodically check them or you can do as follows:

  • Remove the screws from the heads of the tripod legs
  • Using a thread locker such as Blue Loctite (Do not use Red), place a small amount on the threads of the screws.
  • Reinsert the screws into their positions and tighten to desired tension.
  • Let the thread locker cure for 24 hours.
